My name is Korey and I love to write about Tea. I've been looking forward to sharing my thoughts with people from all walks of life.

This is not me in the picture. Or Is it? We just met! We'll get there.

I grew up in the Pacific Northwest. As you may already know. It's cold and wet, a lot. Hot chocolate, hot apple cider and honey-lemon tea were the beverages of choice during the cold months. But in the summer we lived off sweet tea. Something about tea for me, it tastes like happiness feels.

We called it sun tea. Because we brewed it in the sun, of course. It was the 80's and the selection of teas was pretty limited in our small town but I loved it! The box was yellow and red. I think... That's all I can remember. I would get up with the sun, clean and rinse the huge jar. Then I'd toss in a dozen bags of tea, fill it to the brim with clean, crisp cold water and gingerly walk to the sun-room, placing the comically large jar on the shelf with care. I remember being so proud. I was really very young but it was something I could do for my brothers and sisters. I had siblings 5 at the time and they meant everything to me.

Obviously I grew older, as one does. My love for tea would fade, favoring sugary drinks in my youth and fermented beverages as I grew older. But that tea loving me was in there. Oh Yes. And the thing that brought it back to the surface? Having children. Those little faces bring out the best in me. Consequently, the beverage of choice for this rediscovered me, was tea. But not just any tea. I have standards after all!

I have a pallet now and I am determined to use it! I don't waste my time or money on things I don't like these days. If I don't like it. I move on. As it turns out, I have some other things in mind when I buy tea.

Who makes this tea? Where do they grow it? Is it actually healthful? Who benefits the most from the profits? I'm turning into that person and I'm fine with it! These are but a few of the questions I set out to answer. That's what we're all about here at Teayourself.com . If you're interested, join me! If not, that's fine I guess. It's your life.
