There Can Be Only One. My Review of Traditional Medicinals
I only found this brand about a decade ago. They've replaced more than just tea in our home.
I’ve been through some things the last few years. I'm positive most of you can relate. Without going into a lot of specifics, My family has navigated some really choppy waters. Not least of which was the pandemic. Don't worry, I'm not going to get into that. That mess isn't something I'm in a terrible hurry to discuss. I can tell you it turned our lives upside down. When it started, I had a baby and another one would pop up just as everything was "getting going". It was terrifying and difficult for nearly everyone I know. I was happy when all the closures were over though. By the end, my eldest wanted nothing more than to start attending preschool. I was ready too. If I only knew then what I know now. We were about to spend nearly all fall, winter and spring with a never-ending barrage of flu, colds and viruses of all kinds. For the next two years.
Let's be honest here. Small children are dirty little virus sponges. Yeah, I said it. Sure, they're cute and sweet. Giving you a snuggle when you need it the most. Their tiny little voices warming your heart with every word. My eldest called the remote control a "bermote" for the longest time. So it was especially the words he couldn't say that really made me smile. Those words are adorable! Then there's the little arts and crafts littering every unused space in our home. You can't always tell what the picture is but you love seeing how excited they are to show you. Then those tiny little sausage legs blazing a path through your front-room with a recklessness you long to restore. They are so dang cute! I just have one question. Why in heaven's name are they always so sticky?
Seriously, not more than five minutes out of the bath, they're frat house floor after a rager, sticky! (I've heard;) It's as if they excrete some strange substance specifically designed to collect every nasty thing in a mile radius. Suffice it to say, I do blame my children when I get sick. Listen, I'm not proud of that. I'm just being honest.
Sorry, we're supposed to be talking tea. Lets go ahead then.
You're probably wondering how Traditional Medicinals factors into all of this.
I was gobbling up every OTC remedy I could get my hands on. Syrups and sprays, pills and capsules of every shape, size, color and potency. Some of those you had to very careful with. Take to much and your're taking a not so pleasant trip to Mars. Then the lav. I prefer a more relaxed method when it comes to mind altering substances. For me, wine is just fine. OTC pharma aren't my bag, if you follow me. That's exactly where Traditional Medicinals came back into my life.
I felt like I was gargling glass. This was round 3 in just the last couple of months. I dragged my sorry tail into the market, looking for another fix. I had something "PM" on my mind when I swerved down the tea and coffee aisle. I see "Throat Coat", It caught my eye. I figured that it couldn't get any worse. So I snatched it up and on my merry way I went. To my surprise, it actually worked! I didn't believe it at first but I used it every time I was sick and i'll be damned. It is consistent. I started drinking Echinacea Plus everyday. I'm happy to say I haven't felt really miserable in a long time. I'm smack-dab in the middle of the flu and cold season as we speak. I feel great. This is probably a good time to say I'm not a doctor. I can't guarantee you anything. Nor am I suggesting it's a "cure". There's enough talk about "cures" out there. If the pandemic taught me anything it is to take suggested "cures" with a grain of salt. What can I say, people do some weird stuff. I'm not a psychologist either. I have no idea why people do what they do sometimes. I do know Traditional Medicinals is delicious. Worst case scenario, I'm hydrated. We should talk about who Traditional Medicinals is now. I think a little history is in order.
Traditional Medicinals is a herbal tea company founded in 1974, located in Northern California. Its journey began with herbalist Rosemary Gladstar, who co-founded the company with the aim of making herbalism accessible. Traditional Medicinals initially operated a small herbal store and later expanded to produce high-quality, organic herbal teas. Over the years, the company has emphasized sustainability, ethical sourcing, and supporting herbal traditions worldwide. Today, Traditional Medicinals, headquartered in Sebastopol California, continues to provide a diverse range of herbal teas crafted with a commitment to wellness and environmental responsibility. Unlike other brands, they seem to be carrying on with their founding principles. C.S. broke my heart, last time. I was so grateful to learn that they are who they say they are.
We all know the rules. Try the top two selling teas, carefully observing the recommendations for brewing. Today it's Peppermint Delight (Probiotic) and Ecihinacea plus Elderberry.
And I'm not disappointed! When I put on my Tea Review hat, I tend to be pretty dang critical. Both are such great teas! Wow! The warmth of the tea combined with the expertise behind the blends really blows my hair back! You can really feel the care they put into their products. Better news is they have dozens of amazing teas to choose from! There's a tea for every occasion. Including drinking a cup of Nighty Night Extra when you're ready for your guests to go home. Announcing firmly the you're "off to bed". And when you head touches that pillow, your cool quilt wrapped around your tired body. You'll be grateful you had a cuppa.
The verdict is clear. Highlander Rules dictate that there can be only one. Traditional Medicinals is on top! So get yourself some! I have a few links for their products scattered throughout this post. So give them a try!
